Hey, I've gotten a 3.5 overall and I've also done varsity sports. I took all Honors/AP classes throughout my high-school year aside from physics and calc/pre calc. I am soon taking my SAT and I'm still building my ECs. Do I have a chance of being admitted towards USMMA, USMA, USCG?

I think that you should be fine. But your GPA is more on the average/lower side so make sure you have other aspects that can boost your application like your extracurriculars and leadership. Just remember that each application will be different for each person. Anything could happen so the only thing you can do is make the best package possible for admissions. Don't forget, you can still raise your GPA a bit this year as well so keep pushing! Good luck!

Welcome to the forums! What grade are you in? It's very difficult to determine your chances based on the information you provided. There are way too many variables to consider like class rank, ECAs, SAT scores, district competitiveness, gender, CFA, etc. Ask questions regarding areas to improve your application; not "chance me" questions since we don't know your full background.
That being said, try hard to push that GPA up and maintain a good class rank. Make up for your GPA with a competitive SAT score and seek a team captain position in your varsity sports. Gain leadership positions in meaningful extracurriculars that make an impact. Best of luck!

I was varsity for baseball, with a 1320 SAT score. and a 27% class rank

One of the key elements of the selection criteria for USAFA at least is the "Whole Person" concept. A superstar athlete might not be a great scholar and vice versa so they are looking for a well rounded applicant with all the elements of education, athletics, work and service. Focus on getting some leadership opportunities and aim to be the all round strong application that makes the board want to choose you not just having one stand out element.

Instead of asking here, why not maximize your best effort in your applications and establish relationships with your advisors who will write your recommendations/compete form evaluations.

If you look at prior class profiles, you can see your metric is included. But there are so many intangibles that come into play.

Put your best application forward. Make them tell you no.

As already stated, it’s so much more than your gpa: it’s your school profile. District competitiveness. Intangibles such as interview, etc. Class diversity initiatives. And who knows how medical will turn out. There are things beyond your control at play.

Yes you have a chance!! Not everyone at a SA is top of the class with over a 4.0. It’s a whole person look. Be the best overall you, that you can be. It’s waaaaay more than you GPA.

Also, in reading my comment above, I realize that it had a snarky tone, and that was not my intent. Must have been having a salty day, my apologies.

To the OP, you of course were right to ask the question, and it sounds like you are doing the things you need to do to improve/apply. Practice interviewing and perfect your application essays.

Good luck to you.

If you're interested than apply and do not psyche yourself out by trying to game your chances. Every year there are applicants who one would think on paper are sure to get in that don't and there are applicants that one would think on paper have no chance but do. Which group would you prefer to be in?

My son did not "mean business" until his junior year of high school. He still got in and he excelled academically. I think we all have theories as to why "ours" got in or didn't get in (essays? letters of recommendation? athletics? SAT's? grades?) but who knows. It is not to late to demonstrate your commitment in a way that makes you a very desirable candidate.
