Update Thursday
From Mom:
Friends and family! He has made significant progress today! He was extubated this morning and is awake! He is still having trouble talking but that is natural with having tubes in your mouth for a week. We are also waiting to see how his kidneys will react to working on their own.
He is still healing and will still have recovery to go through but this is level of awareness that the doctors wanted and it is amazing to be able to communicate with him.
Now he just needs to rest and keep healing.

Update Saturday
From the Family:
Hi everyone. So far so good with his recovery! He is opening his eyes more and following commands. He is able to move his whole body very well and he has been giving many hand squeezes to all of us. He is not able to talk right now because they are making sure his lungs are free of infection with chest X-rays and a bag to increase his oxygen intake while breathing on his own. Everyone is amazed with the amount of progress he's shown
