The current schedule does have the "All restrictions and watches in effect." I understand if our D/S is scheduled for a watch, he must be there. However, I do not see anything about leave/liberty. Can they leave with family and spend the nights and/or days with their family? Or is it that the family comes to activities at the academy. And does D/S have to request it (or us).

Friday night will probably be no liberty off campus. But will have freedom on campus. Be sure to eat in Delano with them Friday night. They have to buy the tickets. Saturday will probably be liberty after the football game. And get back to campus Monday evening. Unless watch gets in the way. Or if d's/dd is on some sort of restriction. It is a must visit weekend. Take them for seafood. Steak. Wings. Whatever they want. And enjoy the time. If you need restaurant ideas send me a note. In not local but visit a bit and try to hit a majority of ds rugby matches.

Caveat for Parents Weekend. Some plebes are so sleep deprived that all they want to do, at least for Saturday, is SLEEP. Let your DS/DD take the lead.

Some parents bring a picnic with them instead of eating at Delano. Sit down by the Waterfront.
Bring enough to feed a few of your Plebe's friends as some of them will not have family attending and appreciate being part of your family for a meal. (And not having to eat at Delano)

I second kpmom2013. Other parents had plans to take their plebes into the city for a jam packed activities weekend...my kid, just wanted to sleep. We let him sleep and took him to eat when he was hungry. We played everything by ear. Good luck and have fun.

Thank you for the information. I really appreciate it. And additional thanks to cousmma5280, kpmom2013 and KP2020Dad for the additional tips listed above! All the information is very helpful and I appreciate having it so we can be as prepared as possible to be able to do what he wants. I already intended for him to take the lead, but had no idea about eating at Delano or being able to bring a picnic.

    Prayers needed!
Plebe Candidate suffered heat stroke on Wednesday and has been unconscious ever since. He will need a liver transplant. Surgery is expected TODAY/SUNDAY Morning!
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Mom is a KP’90 graduate.

    Fire Hose Push of War!

Fire Hose Push of War. Bracket challenge. Developed by the former Sailing Master. Each platoon enters a 5 person team. The object is to use the stream of the fire hose to push the bucket suspended overhead on a wire to the opponent's end before they do so to your team. Requires proper nozzle control (aim) as well as hose management to permit the movement of the team to advance or retreat as necessary.

    UPDATE #1 Monday Morning

Monday morning update on Plebe Candidate’s transplant surgery.
The surgery was expected to take 10-12 hours.
He is stable and being monitored. Your prayers continue to be the source of support the family is counting on, as the next couple of days are extremely important in his recovery.
Keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming!

    UPDATE #2 Monday

Plebe Candidate’s mom is extremely relieved to share that the color has come back him and the initial lab results testing the liver are indicating that the liver is functioning the way it should.
Although he will continue to be hooked up to a respirator for a few days, the medical team plans to reduce the sedatives so that he can wake up naturally. If all goes as planned, the family hopes to see him awake today!
The family is also appreciative of the constant communication with the USMMA chaplain and 2nd company officer.
Your prayers and positive thoughts from the KP family have provided the family great comfort during this trying time. She believes his survival was truly a miracle as his situation was a race against the clock. She wanted me to convey her relief that things are moving in the right direction and her sincere appreciation for all of your emotional support.

A good preparation of what a life at sea and even later ashore will bring. The maritime industry is an around the clock business. Flexibility is a must. As far as being a West Coaster at KP, I can relate. Even with my job today in the energy/offshore and sometimes maritime industry, I change flights all of the time. At least they are on expenses . . . .
