Just got a note from DD asking me to join her for a "Tiger Cruise" on her CVN as it comes off deployment.
Hawaii headed East for 5-6 days.

I'm thinking of going but I am wondering: how big my state room will be? If there is a cigar-bar on board? how large is the fitness center? Shows? How's the Casino?

If anybody has info on, or experience with, Tiger Cruises that they can share, I'd appreciate it.

Off the top of my head questions:
1) Is there a lotto for "tiger slots" can't imagine every parent / child/ Sig Other that wants to go, gets to go.
2) With no Duty on board, how do tigers pass the time ---- other than a good book. I'd love to watch Flt-Ops, but all day long for 5-6 days😴.
3) Clearances? (I assume not); Medical Waivers? (I assume yes) ; Recent Physical ?: Immunization's?
4) Seems like it would be a worth while Exp. but it will be time away from work and DW is good at extracting Q-Pro-C for being left behind with the Border-Collie. Would you repeat?
5) Where do the have you sleep?

NO ANJEO FOR 5 STINKING DAYS? ---------------------- SERIOUSLY?

One more Q: As a general rule how often does a crew get liberty on a "standard" deployment in the Pacific? DD's been out for about 5 months now and has touched terra-firma at two POC for a total of 3days, with a couple of Beer-Calls in between. She's OK with it (getting a little tired I think). After hearing about 7th Fleet deployments during Covid I'm not about to gripe, (besides I don't have "standing")--------- just curious if there is a "normal" liberty cadence.

Julie will tell you about the onboard activities. Isaac will be tending bar. Gopher can help with logistics. Hope you score a seat at Captain Steubing’s table for dinner. Bon voyage. 😜

We went on one and it was just a few days. I don't know that I could have dealt with a long trip:
1) Everybody who wanted to go did have the opportunity to go. I was surprised that there weren't more family members who were able to.
2) We did have to sign waivers and provide physicals, prior to going. No clearances that I remember.
3) We toured all over the ship with our Ensign and did, in fact, bring books to pass the time.
4) We slept in very small enlisted quarters with other family members with men and women separated. I was surprised at just how small the space each person has. I only whacked my head on the bunk above me a few times. The space was very tight.
5) Our ensign had 4 ports where they were able to leave the ship for liberty on the 6+ month deployment. They were supposed to get beer on the ship due to the length of time they had between ports, but never did.
6) I am glad I did it once, but probably would not do it again. I would like to tour the ships in the future, but not spend any real long time on one.
