Hello,

Is anyone else still stuck with the Initial Evaluation Pending box? I know they have a large number of applicants to look through. Seeing people post about getting LOAs while my app. hasn't even opened is not the best feeling though.

Thanks

Don't worry when you read on this forum about others getting LOA's. USMA does not issue many LOA's and most of those go to recruited athletes. This forum is a small sample of the total application population and tends to be a higher achieving group than the total.

Your best source of information is your RC. If you have not already contacted your RC, send an email introducing yourself and expressing your desire to attend USMA. Ask when your portal will open to the full application. If you have already been in contact with your RC, send an email reiterating your desire and ask about your application.

Be polite, professional, concise, and double check your writing for correct spelling and grammar.

When did you open and start submitting material to the portal? Did you check that you do not have any letters posted to you on the portal?
There are deniers here but really, if your scores are low--sometimes the portal won't open for you and you have a non-committal letter slipped in without any additional changes. (This does not mean you won't send additional material and the portal will open like magic and eventually you will receive an appointment.)

Remember, it is early September. You have plenty of time until the application window closes in late February. If your nomination packets to your congressman and senators are not finished--work on those first...even if you have a presidential nomination--still do the congressional nomination process. Is your presidential nomination letter submitted? If you have been waiting three or four weeks, and nothing, then email your regional technical person or regional admissions officer to ask.

Do not be discouraged by LoAs to other people. That has nothing to do with you and your application. It is a marathon not a sprint.

Great advice above, and should add: Use this “down time” to work on Plan B, C, D, etc. Some civilian schools have deadlines as early as 10/15. And you can use those apps as “practice” to fine-tune your essays, interview skills, etc.
