My son and husband will be at Inspire 3/30-4/1. I thought we could have a thread to talk about it before, during, and after. So far, I’m curious about if anyone received flight information? And, does anyone know how it will differ from CVW? Can’t wait to have them experience this amazing opportunity.

Hello! I believe the main difference between CVW and Inspire is the parent aspect. My traveler sheet was picked up by Mrs. MCNEIL, so I bet we will hear soon back from that. We also have to remember its a big group, so it will take time.

Here are a few pointers for your son's trip to CVW/Inspire. The list has been collected from my students and others on the forum:

1. He should bring something to read, homework or similar, as he will want to allow 'his' Plebe to study during the designated evening hours.
2. Your son should dress conservatively as to not stand out. Avoid clothing with logos or bright colors. Khakis and a collared shirt are ideal for the arrival and for class visits. He should have good walking shoes to walk quickly across the campus. He should not wear any NAVY gear! It will help his Plebe avoid any 'special' attention.
3. Your son should pack some gym clothes, swimsuit, weather gear, and clothes to layer as he will be in classrooms and outdoors too.
4. He should bring a positive outlook, have fun, ask questions and make a good impression.
5. Past attendees have recommended bringing some snacks to share with your hosts and other Plebes.
6. Also, be aware that TRAFFIC is ugly around USNA so anticipate issues arriving on time and plan accordingly!

One of my students will be attending the same session. I hope they both have a great time!

Your attendee should be willing to have conversations with upperclassmen, mids that aren’t his assigned hosts, and people on campus. Be hungry while respecting other people’s time and obligations.

Know that all plebes are tired and kicking butt and burning daylight to get to Herndon. They may not all be happy and singing praises of USNA.

We haven’t received anything regarding travel arrangements yet, but we are driving. Is anyone else driving and did you receive any information? Thank you and safe travels.

My husband and son have both received 2 different itineraries. I’m sure it will all get worked out in the next few days. What a blessing this is! My husband and son can’t wait to meet everyone. Someone mentioned taking treats/or snacks. Anyone have any suggestions on what and how many? We’d love to participate and just looking for great ideas. TIA!

my youngster had many CVW kids last year as a plebe and loved when they brought a home made treat....anything from homemade rice crispy treats to brownies and cookies - one kid brought some candy but they can get that at the mid store - bring a dozen of something - enough to share with the roomies. it is a nice gesture - king hall food is far from great....so something homemade is yummy!
