Well I just got a phone call this morning from one of my senators saying they wanted to interview me. First, is this good? I had my congressional interview and I thought that I was done with all my nom. stuff. Second, why would I be contacted so late? Could it have to do with me updating my file a week ago? And last, does anyone know if this will probably be similar to my conressional interview, or will it be differant? The other thing I thought was interesting is this interview will be with just one interviewer. Is that significant? Sorry about the quickly typed mess, I have to get back to school:)

Of course it's good! It certainly isn't a bad thing.
Just go with it. Who knows what is going on but you are still on the radar so prepare for it and do well. Use this time to shine!

Interviews are always good.

Couple of reasons. First, there is no set timetable (other than submitting slate to USNA by 31 Jan), so your Senator could just be getting around to doing this. Still plenty of time left. Second, they may have done a round of interviews and not been impressed with the candidates, and are going for another group.

And last, does anyone know if this will probably be similar to my conressional interview, or will it be differant?

Absolutely no way of knowing. Nominating committees are as different as the people who are on them. They can ask anything they want. No way to predict.

My congressman interview isnt till saturday, your fine no need to stress over it.

Why are you stressing??!
How could an interview be bad ever anyways?

My MOC's deadline for stuff wasn't even until yesterday, and I keep reading that some have their deadlines on 31.12

More than likely you are assuming your three representatives ( 1 congressional & 2 senators) talk to eachother. In most cases they do not. You have had one interview with your local congressman. Now your senator has called for a completly seperate interview.

Bottom line you have doubled your chances for a nomination. Conduct the senatorial interview with professionalism and do your best.

Best of luck.

Ironically my son received a call Monday from our Congressman's Military Liaison (BTW, he's retiring, didn't run this last election, returning to the public sector after 18 years) requesting him to be at his Office Saturday Morning for an Interview with the Congressman for a Nomination. We didn't even finish his application packet as my son was DQ'ed medically (waiting on a waiver) and has a Nomination for the USNA from his SNSI. He did however just update his application at the USNA ~and USMA last week and received an AROTC Scholarship to The Citadel. This Congressman is a former Army Doctor and sent him a letter months ago urging him to consider the USMA. Son says if awarded this Nomination, he'll switch it from USNA to USMA...if allowed.
