had my interview today for my congressional nomination. they said everything was great except my SAT scores which is true so i dont know how that will work out but i told them im in an live online kaplan SAT prep class prepping for dec.5

anyway, the congressman can nominate up to 10 people correct. but out of the ten he nominates, is it true that only one of us will get an appointment? thats rough if only one of us get an appointment.

also can i send them my updated SAT scores when i take them in dec.5 or will they have already decided by then?

thanks

Well done! You certainly may update your MOC with your SAT's, it might make a difference, it might not.

Each Congressman may nominate 10 people for each spot they have available. They are allowed 5 total for each academy which works out to one each year, but may have two slots open some years.
One of those 10 will fill the Congressman's slot. The other 9 certainly may be appointed from the national pool, competing against all other candidates across the country.
Don't forget - if you are interested prep options exist, either the Academy prep school or the Foundation or AOG prep programs. This is true if you don't get a nomination.
Keep working on those SAT's!

I was told that the ten that are nominated only one gets the title of being nominated by the senator or congressman. the other nine have the title of superintendent nomination.

Explanation of Noms here....

I don't know how to post a link to this thread, but the answers you seek can be found in the Naval Academy forum page on the thread "I'm competing for an appointment within my nomination sources?" Seek and ye shall find.
