Is math at USMMA no calculator, calculator allowed, or a mix of both?

Here's what I was issued.. No batteries required.

Halfway through my 2nd class year I saved up enough to go buy an HP-35 RPN calculator.. I remember it being a real lifesaver in my Spherical Trig class.. It made everything easy as 3.1415926.. 😉

I remember learning to use a slide rule in my junior year at high school. Before the end of the year, it became obsolete.

Is there a way to see the math prep problems? Just to have an idea? Thank you so much.

One of the things about using a slide rule and watching it pass into obsolescence is it likely means you too are probably close to be being obsolete.
...until the power goes out

In the interest of everyone, I reached out to the head of the Math & Science Department and his response is immediately below.

The Texas Instruments TI – 36X Pro is required for all Math and Science courses. It is also approved to be used in a number of other courses in the other departments. Therefore should be the one purchased if the plebe wants to get only one calculator. The other calculator (TI-89), the student may find to be useful to do basic graphing etc. if they do not have their computer with them and thus is optional.
