Is NROTC Substance Allowance less than ROTC/AFROTC

#2 Son received NROTC scholarship he'll be taking to Citadel - looking at descriptions of the AFROTC and ROTC it seems they get an extra $50 when compared to NROTC - is this correct?

In any case it's better than the $100 we got per month back in the day ... does this make me old?

Have some fun reading the core regulation, then tracking down the relevant Service reg online. The unclassified ones are almost all findable. There may be a difference in deductions.

Certainly seems correct... and yes it makes you old. :D

I never heard my DS complaining about lack of money though, even after stopping the monthly stipend I had been sending him. Hell, I got by on $7.00 a week for pocket money back in the day. If my math is still good that's $28.00 a month. Is that right?
 
Wasn’t that Noah’s rate? Back when he cruised on USS BULRUSH? No, that was Moses on BULRUSH, Noah before him on ARK. Even lower then.

how much is that room and board at service academies again?

Included in their ADSO...

Still, my other kid will be keeping their stipend once they're contracted since that university grants ROTC scholarship winners a generous amount for room & board.
