Is this an appointment letter?

DS just got a letter in the mail today. It states: "Congratulations! The Admissions Committee has recommended you for an appointment to USMA. Accordingly, I have reserved a cadetship for you contingent upon continued excellent work in school. When these matters are resolved, you will be appointed a member of the USMA Class of 2019."

DS has a Presidential Nom and his 3Q letter, so is this an appointment, or another "thumbs up" in the right direction? It's so early, that it seems to be too good to be true.

He has his first MOC interview tomorrow, so he will go ahead as planned until he gets confirmation. He has an email into his RC.

Sounds like he's in, provided he finishes up well. And, it goes without saying, remains healthy and out of trouble. Congrats!

Thanks for the responses. I guess we needed it to say "LOA" right on the top so we knew for sure. Lol! Weren't expecting that at all, since DS already had an LOE. It did mention an overnight visit, which his LOE did also. Probably going to do one after the holidays when midterms are over.

He got his AROTC 4 year scholarship from the first board. It's looking likely that he will be accepted to his plan B school that matches the tuition scholarship with room and board. (Won't know for sure until mid-Dec) So now his #2 choice is looking more enticing. So a second visit to both schools is the plan to help him make that final decision. Either one is a very good choice and we are tickled for him to go either way. Big decisions ahead for him!
