Good morning. Thank you hiker for sharing your insight. The budget mess in Washington could con't. past March, so without direction from CC - apparently even to their PMS/ROO staffs or more directly to the applicants via the website, we all still must have a plan of action.
DS will email his POC at CC sometime today or over the weekend. She has not responded to his last few emails(concerning other situtions)so do not expect much. Perhaps someone with a more attentive POC would also like to make contact to clarify/confirm this delay of results.
DS wants to follow the plans I posted earlier and pursue his 1st choice school without the AROTC scholarship. We will have more discussions about this over the coming weeks, so those teachable moments continue
This is the plan here in Ohio.
Can't help but think that a lot of what we are seeing with the ROTC programs across the board (AROTC/NROTC/AFROTC) is due to the fact that the US Govt is operating on a Continuing Resolution (till at least March) and has not passed an FY 2011 budget in Congress. DOJ and other FED departments have announced hiring freezes and times are tight as far as FED govt spending is concerned. Maybe the military is a different beast, but they are still funded by tax dollars.
