Hi! I am currently a senior who has been CPR since around September and have received both my congressional and senatorial nominations and have been waiting to hear back from the Academy. During my wait however, I have currently been accepted admission into Princeton University, Georgetown, and MIT. For this reason, I wanted to know if it would be best to pull my application and assume I got a TWE as it is getting very close to April 15 and should commit to one of these schools. If you were in my situation what do you believe is the best course of action? Thank you.

Definitely wait until you hear and then make a decision with both eyes open. If you pull your application now, you will “always wonder”. Now, if you know you wouldn’t accept the offer even if you got one, then go ahead. But the other schools give you till May 1st and you have every right to wait till then.

Do not close the door on an opportunity until it is closed by them; and then reapply if it is your dream and meets the goals you have. Options are an amazing thing to have. Don't give up the ship!

OP!! Make SURE those are their deadlines presently with this pandemic going on. My DS’s school emailed him that their acceptance deadlines are extended. Among other deadlines. Unprecedented times!!

But my advice would be to absolutely NOT pull your app. What if you decide to re-apply? Don’t ever close doors (read: opportunities) until you ABSOLUTELY have to. Good life skill there!

April 15 (if that is their hard deadline) is still a ways off!

One thing I tell my kids to do, when making an important decision, is to sleep on it. Often things are different when all the clutter of the day is cleared from the mind. Hanggggg in there. In these times of uncertainty, it’s tough. But YOU are tough 😤

Due to my families financial situation direct appointment would be best, and NAPS would be also optimal, however if wait-listed I would most likely commit to MIT.

Didn't think Princeton acceptances were announced until tomorrow.

Georgetown doesn't announce theirs until next Wednesday, too. Early action at Princeton is binding, so he wouldn't have been able to apply for early action at any other school.

I believe Early Action at Princeton is non binding. From the Princeton Admission Website:

"Princeton’s single-choice early action program is a nonbinding process, giving applicants the opportunity to review admission and financial aid offers from other schools. Students have until May 1 to respond to Princeton’s offer of admission."

Again from the Princeton University Website:

Princeton has offered admission to 791 students for the Class of 2024 through the University’s single-choice early action program. The admission process reflects Princeton’s enduring commitment to attract, enroll and support extraordinary students from all backgrounds.

The undergraduate admission office mailed notification letters to students on Dec. 12, and the decisions also are available to applicants via secure online access starting at 7 p.m. EST.

Right, but single choice early action means that you can only apply to that one school EA - with the exception of any public university or ED 2. Georgetown came out before OP posted for regular decision, but Princeton and MIT are both single choice early action (Georgetown says one cannot ED anywhere if you apply EA there).

My guess is that OP either received a likely letter of admission from either one or two of these three schools or is lying about his acceptances.

MIT RD decisions came out 3/14 (Pi day). OP could have applied REA to Princeton and Regular to MIT.
