Airman, hang in there. There is still the possibility of more P school appointments, but I think you will have to wait until the middle of May to hear. Still the possibility of Direct Entry appts. too, but probably not until the middle of May as well.

Just got off the phone with my ALO. My suspicions were confirmed.
My year of college before enlisting has permanantly disqualified me from the prep school and there are no direct entry slots as of now.
We've already got the ball rolling on next years application.

Guess I'm out of the race then also, since there are no direct slots for LEAD.
I guess I need to start figuring out plan B.

Direct Slots for LEAD are not entirely out of the picture. You will just have to wait until after May 1, probably until mid May, to find out for sure. As I have stated before, Brunnhilde is in the wings, but she has yet to come on stage and sing! So "it ain't over"....
Ahh no because I'm in the Guard I'm allowed to go do the Platoon Leaders Course in the summertime. I'll go to Quantico each summer while I attend my civilian school in the fall and spring.
oh, ok! good job. Keep up the good work and re-apply next year for Direct Entry!

It is frustrating because if it were any other year I would have an excellent chance of getting that direct appointment.
All depends on how you look at it...
Pima has written some very informative posts on that very subject (any other year). An accident of birth, if you want to look at it that way, but that is calling a 500 ml glass container with 250 ml of liquid in it "half empty". The bright side is, assuming you are not too old, there will be 130 more slots next year (I believe). Also, you have nearly a year to improve your package. Also, the LEAD direct appointments have not been selected, so you still have a chance, albeit, I admit, at this point, most likely a small one.

In a simply fantastic turn of events, I have received an appointment to the Air Force Academy Prep School.
I don't know how it happened, but obviously I have many to thank.
I had just gotten through explaining to my supervisor why I didn't get in when the news came.
This has been an emotional roller coaster of a day. Time for it to sink in.

I received a message telling me to check my portal, jumped onto my supervisor's computer and we brought it up together.
Definitely and awesome way to find out.
