Well, all the Falcon and Preppie candidates for 2016 apparently have been notified, and the May 1 deadline for acceptances from the previous offers has passed. The Academy should have a much better count of how many slots are left. Hoping, for the sake of the LEAD candidates on here who are too old for Prep appointments, that there will be some direct appointment slots available. I am guessing they are going through the wait list right now.....

Covered this in another thread but I'll repost here for those who didn't see it.

That said, I know of two people who still didn't get appointments at the prep school. They announced the last batch a few minutes ago. There may be more but I don't know everyone who didn't get one.
 
I'm hoping to hear that some more of the LEAD candidates get appointments. :rolleyes:

For those that received their Prep appointments in April, did you check that you wanted to be looked at for Prep school or direct entry first?

By default you're signing for direct entry. The prep school is just an additional check box you can sign on. There is no applying only to the prep school.

DS said he checked both, but that it doesn't matter. He said you are considered for both, regardless. Unless you're to old for Prep that is.

Am I the last LEAD candidate on here who's only option is direct and still hasn't heard anything?

I'm almost willing to bet someone $50 here that they're waiting a few more days or weeks to torture me more and then top it off with a rejection letter. My hopes are shot after hearing about Airman and Romero. There's no way in hell I'm any more competitive than either of them.

On the contrary, my squadron just found a pallet of girl scout cookies so I have five boxes on hand to ease the pain. They're going by rather quickly.

I'm surprised you missed my post about this. It was on the page right before this one. The board WILL NOT take any direct entry prior enlisted applications for class of 2016. If you are a prior and you were not in the prep school class of 2012, you WILL NOT be going to the academy for class of 2016. My Academy Military Trainer has attended the board meetings and heard it straight from their mouths. He passed the word on to me while I was chatting with him in his office. Sorry, dagger, but they are going to reject you for direct entry.

This is a strange year! Anything could and possibly will happen. Keep moving forward dagger, but you never know.
 
I'm pulling for you as well, dagger.

I know there might be overwhelming evidence against you getting in, but you still have not received the TWE.
 
Crossing my fingers for all of those that have not received an answer yet. Admissions gave a reply on facebook that leads me to believe that it is not all over yet. Good luck Dagger.
