My DS just sent me a link for proofs of yearbook type pictures. They aren't cheap - but they are very well done. I have two questions. Are these formal portrait pictures done every year? Is one of the poses traditional - i.e. cover on or off, standing, sitting, etc. Thanks!

My son just got his and texted me two pics. One standing with cover and sword, one close up standing without cover. He said there are more but is driving right now.

Still waiting on prices.

DS sent me his today.

@Parent1stTimer , yes, these are taken each year. One of the poses ends up in the Lucky Bag (USNA Yearbook).

Nope, they aren't cheap. I haven't bought them yet and my son is a 2/C, but am seriously considering buying them this year. Likely the downloadable version but I'm still on the fence due to cost.

I did hire Mr. Thornton who resides in DTA and during the fall of DS plebe year, he took some excellent pictures of our DS in various poses and locations, and he is incredibly affordable in comparison. Plus, I got more than one pose for a lot less and had the ability to print on my own via WalMart, Costco, CVS, etc.

Seriously I almost fell out of my chair reading the pricing! I did read somewhere they send a discount code sometime in Spring so to maybe hold out for that.
Hold out for the coupon.

We purchased a single 8x10, plebe year. And are super glad we did. Since they are the ‘same’ each year, we opted to have one for hanging on the wall. And the. Senior year, we did 3rd party professional ones. There is always a Mid or two that’s gifted in photography, often in the yearbook staff, that does senior pics for a reduced fee for the Mids…or even free. There are also several professional photographers that do sessions.

One 8x10, with a discount (even a year later…the emails start coming offering discounts. But that also means you have to wait).
