Letters of Recommendation Warning

Just to warn everyone on their LOR from Senior year teachers. Their LORs will only be accepted if they were submitted after Oct.1. I had my senior year English teacher do mine(she taught me freshman year and was the moderator for an extracurricular) and she submitted late August. The board informed me that she did it "English teacher recommendation needs to be replaced because your teacher did not have enough time to fully evaluate your performance."

In short, do not submit these too early! The board had to defer my application to the next week and I haven't heard anything back yet(good thing I hope).

I believe that the majority of candidates will use their Junior year English teacher.

The preference is for junior year teachers because they have known you an entire year. Typically, you should choose a senior year teacher only if the junior year teacher is unavailable (retired, moved, ill, deceased). However, it makes sense that you need to give the teacher time to get to know you in the classroom, not just via an ECA/sport.
