I’m in MD as well...did your nomination come from your Congressman because I recall our senators saying I wouldn’t hear anything until mid-January at the earliest. What district are you in? I got a nomination in MD
Yes it was a Congressional nomination.I’m in MD as well...did your nomination come from your Congressman because I recall our senators saying I wouldn’t hear anything until mid-January at the earliest.
My state and district actually had more applicants for nominations than usual. Typically the senators have about 50 applicants for USAFA, but this year there were 85.The two congressional districts that I serve did have a "light year". Both had just over half the number of typical applicants. In a normal year, they average 15 for USAFA and slightly more for USNA and USMA. In 2020, neither had 10 for USAFA (one didn't interview and nominated them all) and just over 10 for USNA and USMA.
This may not be a nationwide trend and just a fluke year where I live.
Would you say it is an abnormally large year?Roger. Again, I can assure you and everyone else on this thread, it is NOT nationwide...not even close
For all Academies, or just USAFA?
We had 9 for USAFA in my district but the MOC wanted us still to interview to ensure that they were all people that we were willing to recommend/endorse.In 2020, neither had 10 for USAFA (one didn't interview and nominated them all)
