LOA but no nomination

I currently have a Letter of Assurance to USMMA however after all of my nomination interviews I was only able to secure a nomination to USNA. Is there anything I can do to receive a nomination at this point? I found out too late that nominations for USMMA could be obtained from Congressmen from other districts and after trying to contact Congressman Elijah Cummings' office I was unable to obtain one from him as well. I have reached out to my Admissions Officer and am hoping he will be able to help but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or if this is it.
 
You need to call every congressman in your state and be persistent. If you want to go to USMMA don't take 'No' for an answer. If that fails call congressmen from landlocked states e.g. Nebraska, Idaho, Kansas, etc. they're under represented at the Academy and their reps have to have spare noms. The academy is saturated with people from New York, California, and Texas.

I would suggest letting your admissions rep know your situation. IMO a nomination is a requirement, but it is not intended to be an impediment to a student that the Academy wants to admit. I suspect many of the students who now have nominations will not need them, as they will not be admitted. If the Academy wants you, one of those can find it's way to you.

I emailed my admissions rep over the weekend and am currently waiting on a response. I've been contacting offices all morning with no luck. Thank you for your advice, I will continue to contact everyone I can so that I may obtain a nomination.

My DS got a nomination to USMMA, which he did not even apply for, but wants USNA and did not get it :(. Maybe they will work a trade!

I received a LOA from the USMMA as well. The MOC letters have gone out from both offices of Senate - but not from my district's MOC. Still waiting. If I don't receive a nomination, is it too late to do what was advised earlier in this thread... start calling all MOC from other districts and ask if they have any available nominations?

It's not too late. I made calls to every congressman in my state and obtained two nominations this week. Call everyone and be persistent. Good luck!
 
Nominations are due January 31, so it may not be too late.
 
Do you play a sport? When DD applied they told her if she didn't get a nom, the coach would work on getting her one. She got one anyway, as she wanted to do it all herself.

By law, you cannot receive a nomination unless you reside in that state. So, reaching out to congressmen and senators in other states is wasting time.

A candidate does not have to reside in the same Congressional District as his/her nominator (a Member of the U.S. House of Representative CAN nominate a candidate who resides in a District other than their own, as long as it is in their (the nominator's) State/Territory.) This differs from nominations to the USMA, USNA, and USAFA.
