LOA on USNA Portal?

If we recall correctly, my son’s LOA never showed up on the portal.

2 years ago. Yes it did. That was a before SFDC implementation. Not sure about this year. There does not seem to be a portal as in years past to view, the way USAFA still has

Interesting. When did you get the LOA? My son got his late as soon he finished his app. He also had to go through a period of being Dq’ed for medical and waiting on waiver. So maybe his case was the exception and not the rule.

It was DD and it was 2 year ago. My memory is not what it was. Her LOA came very late (mid march), and then she received an appointment a week later, so I rarely reference it. If I remember correctly, she received an "email/update" in her portal. There were no qualifications as what she needed to do to satisfy the LOA. She emailed her AC. By the time she received a response she had received an appointment. I could be wrong, but I recall her showing me an update to her portal. Ironically, she received the LOA in the mail after she knew she had an appointment. With all that said, the "portal" has changed this year. I am not sure there is an area to see updates, as in years past.

I remember this. Damn I’m getting old.

How’s everything going for her?

Last year the LOA showed up on the portal for my DS. I don't believe the term LOA was actually used. I would need to ask him to be completely sure, but it stated something akin to the fact that as long as he met the conditions outlined below, he would receive an appointment. Then the two remaining conditions for him were listed... a nomination and clearing medical. One by one those were cleared. As I say with everything, don't put too much stock in what happened last year. This is a new dawn...

This may be a silly question but does anyone think that there would be reason to worry if my LOA hasn't showed up on my USNA portal? I received one via snail mail but never received an email or a portal update.

No need to worry. In our world of instant gratification, it’s no doubt hard to not see a screen confirm what you believe to be true. But if you got snail mail, trust in the process. Focus your time on fulfilling the condition upon which your LOA depends; working on Plans B, C, D and so on; and spending time with family and friends. Try not to obsessively check the portal for digital confirmation of your LOA.
