I keep reading about people with LOA's and letters saying they are scholastically qualified and triple Q'ed. If you do not get any of these letters does that mean you will probably get the thin white envelope? Do they send everyone that is a strong candidate a letter? Oh, also, what kind of envelope do these letters come in???? Does anyone know when they start sending rejection letters out? Just curious. Thanks.

Most people do not get LOAs. Triple Q letters are sent out after the Admissions Board reviews your packet. If you haven't received a letter, it could simply mean that the Board has yet to review your record. Typically, rejection letters don't go out until after the first of the year and many won't get them until April.

My son received his LOA from USNA last week. It came in a thin white envelope and didn't seem significant at all. I think triple Q just means scholastically, medically, and physical qualified (academics, passed dodmerb, and passed CFA). From what I understand, only about 10% of those who ultimately get the appointment get an LOA, so don't lose hope- there's plenty of time left. Best of luck!

Thanks for the response. Congratulations on the LOA! What state are you from?
