M4A1 or M16 During Beast?

I understand that we qualify in basic marksmanship during Beast. Do we qualify on an M4A1, or on an M16?




Another -unrelated- question: When do we receive a military ID? Do we receive one as cadets? Can we buy at any PX while being Plebes?

M16 are just for beast. They want you to carry them because they are heavier.
You will get Military ID card after beast.

West Point still has the M16? I thought that they were all replaced by the M4A1.

Lots of M-16s still around the services. My guess is West Point would be towards the bottom of the list to receive new rifles as they roll out.

Uhhh... Focus on hitting what you are aiming at and not the weapon you are holding. Trust me, any firearm can be deadly in the right hands.

I'm pretty steady on the M4 already, haven't practiced with the M16 much.

Anyways, I just wanted to know what weapon we were using, doesn't take away the fact that I'm EAGER for all of this to begin!

Felix I'm actually better with the M16 haha, I think its more accurate, guess it's just matter of personal preference.
