Good morning, up bright and early getting a start on the AROTC application. My DS wants to major in Intelligence and National Security. That is not listed as a major on any of the discipline areas. It reads that once you pick a major you have to have approval to switch, etc so I don't want to pick something that isnt what he really plans to do. What should we do?

Pick something close. What department is that major in? Perhaps that will provide a clue on what to pick.

Agree with Kinnem - "Pick something close."
Do all the schools your son is applying have that major - 'Intelligence and National Security'? Not likely.
After identifying your schools of choice for the application find an offered major that is also on the majors list from the AROTC list.

    International Relations
    Foreign Affairs
    Strategic Intelligence
... anything close is fine and if it does not match exactly to the final major chosen he won't lose the scholarship. Key is that the discipline mix is close. Intelligence or National Security would fall in Mix 1 or 2.
