Now I have all of the information to surprise DS with tomorrow when I pick him up from the cruise ship. ROO also said DS should receive the official letter by Wednesday. That would be great for any awarded if there could be some options like you have! I think many assumed there would be no options since the last board seemed pretty restrictive when it came to choices. Congratulations!
Was able to be there when DS checked his status on his smarthphone while standing in the high school gym. Priceless.
 
Got an email from on Friday. 4 yr to Ole Miss baby!!!

Congrats to everyone and best of luck to those still waiting!

So, did anyone else notice the letters received by Wednesday...I hope this ROO mispoke and meant letters mailed by Wednesday. Word choice gives me a bad feeling. To be received by Wednesday from Ft. Knox KY, letters would be mailed by Monday - ie no more results post once the letters are mailed.

oh, and of course, CONGRATS TO Alabamamom and your son on the great offer!!! Have fun visiting schools!

Not borrowing trouble, I think we'd have heard from our forum ROOs if this was the case, but I'm heading into work tonight and just had to check in with all you before I go.

also, CONGRATS to Alabamamom and her son, have a great time visiting and making final choice!

I think you are correct in that we would have heard from a ROO either way. DS received a call at the end of both previous boards from the ROO at in state school saying he didn't receive one. That call hasn't come yet.
 
That's great to get so many offers from 3 schools. DS only got one 4 year to Rutgers but hasn't gotten a call or letter from them at all. He reached out to them but hasn't heard from anyone. He is has applied to get it appied to ERAU and they said that Cadet Command will let us know by Tuesday.

Anyone else get a transfer? Anyone else even get a call from their school that their DS or DD were assigned to?

Thanks for the reinforcement. My gut tells me they aren't done yet - but that wording just stuck in my head wrong. Gonna go move around some tables and displays of lotion/bodywash and hang out with my coworkers, Sunday evening is very casual, malls closed and its just the girls, perfect distraction.

See all of you bright and early(well, 9 o'clock is early in Ohioland)to see what CC and life holds for our kiddos.

Day off (sort of) tomorrow. Church prayer meeting at 9 am then cleaning my house in between checking CC and SAF for results. I hope you have a good night at work.:smile:

My guess is that there are two types of crews working -- one crew posting, and the other crew stuffing envelopes, etc. I don't think the crew posting is using the actual letter to be mailed (likely working off a list). As such, they could have mailed the letter on Friday but won't update the website until Monday. Also, I'm sure they have layers of quality control as well to ensure that everything is accurate. If there are more offers than the last board to QC, it would take a bit longer I would expect.

I expect that the dust will settle at least by Wednesday, though.

So how many days between electronic and paper notification for your DS?

CC told me via phone on Friday AM that they would not be done until Tuesday. Again, I was told that there were 4 people inputing into computer and they each had a section of the alphabet.. Hopefully in my case the T thru Z guy was not there on Friday (We are WE)... Looking forward to the announcements tomorrow. Another note on the alphabet theories....Just something to do to pass the time... trying to figure this all out....helps getting thru the hours when this thread is lighting up and getting nothing for my DS. Wishing the best to all on this forum for the next couple of days...

We really needed Charlie Epps, from Numbers, to help us out with the "E" award that was issued on Thursday as all the rest fit the pattern as described to you. Actually, CC needs him to write them a program so that all the notifications can be done electronically within about 5 minutes of pressing the button. Then next year's awardees would say, "they mailed them letters!?!"

Hoping everyone waiting has really good news tomorrow. :thumb:
 
It was a very long weekend. Can't wait to hear the results whether good or bad I just want this process to be over with. Hey plan B is starting to sound pretty good anyway ;)

paradoxer, I think it took about a week from the day DS's online status first changed ("check your DoDMERB") until he actually received the offer letter in the mail. Then, on about the same day the letter arrived (or maybe a day after), DS's online status changed again to list the school to which he had been offered. Apparently, the ROOs knew immediately once the first online status change occurred, but they were under some sort of gag order not to communicate with awardees until about a week to ensure that the letter would actually be the first communication with the awardee. That's how I remember it. :thumb:
 
Done checking boards for the night. Here's hoping that tomorrow brings good luck for those of us that haven't heard anything yet and a HUGE congrats to those of you who have. Getting plan B in order as we speak!
