I am assuming that because the senators in Michigan have not submitted their nominations to the academies yet (stabenow picked hers, but hasn't sent them to the academies yet), many candidates who might have recieved an appointment or LOA are still in a holding pattern with admissions.

Peters hasn't made his nominations, and for some reason Stabenow is deliberately holding off submitting hers, as per an aid in her office. I suspect there is some agenda between the two offices, but regardless, it has an effect on the early admission process. With many candidates the academies seem to wait until they know which noninations he or she has.

Looking at the early admits disclosed in these forums I don't see many, if any, from Michigan. I suspect there are, but I think our senators are not necessarily helping some of these kids by delaying. Am I wrong about this?
