did any of you that received a Nomination get invited to an acknowledgement ceremony with your MOC? like a celebration?

Yes, my DS did. It was about an hour long with nominated candidates from USAFA, USMA, USNA, & USMMA. Took group, individual, & family pictures with our congresswoman.

Our congressman did a ceremony 2 years ago and this year also. Our senator's nomination show up in the mailbox with no notice. The second senator sent a very nice letter notifying son he would not receive a double senator nom but wished him well.

Our MOC hosted a reception for his nominee slate. DD came home freaked out because she “met so many people” who already had offer of appointment. She just knew that there was no way she’d get in because surely there was no room left. As it turns out, she got LOAs and offers of appointment to three SAs.

So if your MOC has a shindig, go and thank him/her and meet the other candidates. But don’t let it freak you out.

Our MOC didn’t invite us to anything which was a little disappointing as i thought it would be fun to have DS meet him formally. But i guess it’s normal for most MOC to not have time for this.

Our Representative only had a press release showing the names of all kids who got nominations to all the academies.

In past years, our MOC had a ceremony and photo shoot with all of the appointees from his district around May.

Our Senators only have receptions for appointed candidates. It would be beyond my comprehension to think our Congress person would do any kind of notice.

Parents Club at CT for USNA had a luncheon for all appointees for USNA as they do every year We had 13 one year. DD had her Whites on and spoke to the incoming in private.
