My son received an email from his admissions officer yesterday asking for more info for the admissions committee. I take this as good news, except it was asking for a statement on suspensions from his early high school days. It was 1 minor rule violation freshman year and 1 minor rule violation sophomore year. He goes to a private school so they don't put up with any infraction of the rules. He never had any further incidents in school and the head of school also sent an email verifying the info. Hoping those little things don't keep him out. Patiently waiting on any news and in the meantime we are revisiting MMI and UNG to make the final choice for plan B. He's been accepted into the SAP at MMI and has received 3 year ROTC for UNG. Decisions, decisions I hope we don't have to finalize. But either will be great for him.

I would take their interest in learning more as a sign that they are still interested. Were they specific with the kind of follow up that was necessary? My DD received a form letter type request for more information when her file was complete. It turned out to be a mistake.

At this point in time it can't be anything but a positive sign. Just be open, honest, and send a complete explanation of the specific circumstances.
If its minor like you say should be no problem.

Yes, just two small infractions. One was going out of boundary and one in a group playing with a lighter.. neither big deal and school punishes for ANY broken rule. Both happened in groups where entire group was punished. At our school even if you are with another person breaking the rule you're just as guilty. They have the same school oath as the academies. Cheating, stealing, anything is punishable. And it works.. We don't have behavior problems. If we do they are gone.

Just wanted his statement on the events to explain from him.

Tuesday my Liaison Officer emailed me early that morning for more information and I was informed of my acceptance yesterday from my congressional representative.

P.S: They don’t always reach out to inform you of an appointment.

Congratulations!!
Thanks.

If a plan b is necessary, I can speak highly enough of UNG. When the TWE came, UNG was DS's plan B...he loved it and they were very helpful in his quest to get into WP the next year.

He's been accepted into UNG with ROTC scholarship received. We have also been to Marion Military Institute 2x. Trying to decide between the 2 for plan b. If he really wants West Point I feel MMI can get him there, but he may want to go UNG.. He really liked his 2 visits there too. Thanks for the info. Hard decisions!!

Ask the RC what he suggests. RC told my DS to take a schedule that would mimic WP plebe year, so he did. He also was able to get another nom (from the PMS at UNG).
