I know it's a bit late (been here for a few months, but not super active), but hello from Georgia! I'm 13, a Scout, black belt, and of course, a science nerd, and I hope to graduate from USAFA in 2030. I'm extremely ambitious, but I keep setting the bar higher. Glad to see a place like this so I can stop googling all my questions!

Welcome - I am from Georgia as well and look forward to your journey. I also have a 13 YO son. I commend you on your early start!

lmaoooooooooooooooooo
Why would you mock someone like this? And not once, but twice?? I see that you have asked LOTS of questions yourself, on the forums in your time here. Been given lots of guidance. From people who genuinely care about helping others. Let’s not be harsh, mocking or rude.

I commend OP for introducing themselves and tending to their journey. Often, kids don’t consider a SA until they start thinking about college...more their late junior/senior year. And due to the unique nature of the 18 month-ish process of applying to a SA, or ROTC scholarship program....THATS sometimes too late unfortunately.

OP, welcome. Beginning your freshman year, you should start to plan your academic years with your counselor. Let them know your interest. And hang around here. Lots of good stuff 🙌

Some our best posters are the young people. I learn from them things to talk to my students about.

To have a13 year old participating is awesome.

I need to watch my mouth though.

@Sciencnerd Welcome to the forum! I only wish our DS and I had discovered this when he was your age. He had his sights on USNA from about the age of 11. There is no time that is too early to begin your research and planning.

As others has mentioned, it is a complex process and setting your high school schedule on a trajectory to success and one that meets the needs of USAFA in terms of courses is brilliant. Doing so early on, preparing yourself, and committing to a goal is also commendable-- definitely not laughable.

Before you ask lots of questions here, do your due diligence researching every drop down menu, every page, every word on the USAFA website.

Also, kudos to you for continuing to set the bar higher. Don't forget to enjoy your upcoming years while pursuing this dream.

To be clear, I was speaking specifically to @MichaelT2022, their posts here seem to come off as mocking to me. Especially in light of all the patience members have had in addressing their own, past questions.....

Maybe i read their comments here wrong. But, if so, good for them to know how they are coming off...especially to new, young forum members.

@Devil Doc you are fantastic. Always. Even when you are away on your island for a bit 😂

I know. I read your post the way you described it. I shouldn't be here while working.

Problem is I'm not working. I had to give my students a Ketchup day so they could turn in something for me to put in the gradebook.

It's Friday though.

Please explain this Ketchup day......wait.....

Oh my goodness.

Well done Devil Doc.

Anyways... I wish I had found this thread when I was 13, even I wish I had been this dedicated. Junior year caught up on me really quick, and I never expected for this time to come for a while. @Sciencnerd, enjoy your high school days. I hope that you can enjoy the full experience and that this pandemic doesn't set you back like it has for me. You'll make many friends, but only keep the ones that make you a better person. Don't let anyone hold you back from pursuing from what you want to accomplish. I wish I knew that back in 8th grade.
