NA Summer Seminar

That was a quick and smooth dropoff. Just like I-day.
How long was drop off start to finish? Trying to decide if I should drive him up, drop-off, then Head home.. or drive up Friday, stay the night in hotel, the. Drop off and head home.. 5 hour drive for me each way.

You walk up to Dahlgren Hall and poof, 30 seconds later your loved one is gone.

To add to my short post, might be a good idea to come Friday so your DS/DD can rest prior to checking in instead of a 5 hour drive then straight to checking in.

Don’t overthink this. These are 16- and 17-year-olds with a strong interest in attending a rigorous leadership lab, going away for a few days. They’re capable of doing it quickly and on their own. There’s no pomp and circumstance needed for drop-off or pick-up.

DD was dropped off at USMA SLE and USAFA SS because we happened to be in the area (we live near one of them), but I barely had a chance to hug her goodbye. She checked in, they whisked her away. For USNA SS, she flew on her own, so it was “goodbye” and “welcome back” at the airport. It all turned out well.

About a minute, at the most.

At least I can hot the mid store before heading back out on the road.
Don’t know if you already have a USNA affiliation. Just know that Mid Store shoppers are asked for proof of “shopping privileges.” Otherwise, there’s always the gift shop in the visitors center.

I am not sure Mid Store is open on Saturdays, if that is the day we are talking about. It’s open on certain Saturdays, reunion/home football weekends, parents weekend, Comm Week, etc.

Visitor Center gift shop is open to all, and open on Saturday.

I have a class of 2026 plebe I’ll be dropping off for iday a week or so later so hoping he/I can hit the mid store using his orders?

If he’s doing I-Day things, you can join the crowds of parents in the Mid Store firing up their credit cards. You’ll have a certain sweaty aura and dazed look in your eye that should suffice, but having a copy of his PTR is good insurance.

Can us non-privileged peons at least enter the Mid Store? We wouldn’t go in if crowded, but just to check it out.

These days, I honestly recommend coming a day before due to the uncertainty of air travel. If flying a distance. It’s a real consideration these days!! We had significant delays both coming and returning for commissioning week.

Any session 3 folks out there? Have you received anything of late detailing what to bring, not to bring, etc?
