Hello, just found this forum recently. So much great information and knowledgeable people. Wish I had found it 3 years ago!

Some background: My daughter is currently at NAPS. Last July she was given access to a new USNA application portal to use and set it up as directed. Before leaving for NAPS she had re-submitted for VP, Representative and the 2 Senators nomination applications as required. Had letters of recommendations sent to the MOCs, etc. Her previous CFA and DODMERB were carried over to the new application. She interviewed with one Senator and the Congressman (who nominated her last year) this past Fall. Both sent letters saying since she already had a nomination from the Secretary of the Navy they would not nominate her so 2 others could get nominated from the state - I learned recently our state does not double/triple nominate. The MOC staffs get together to prevent this. Fair enough. The application portal shows SECNAV nomination for nom status. Her PRT scores and academic GPA are above the minimum. No problems at NAPS.

Here is my question: Is there anything else she needs to do before January 31st (like hit submit?) or is the application submittal automatic for NAPSTERs?

.
I believe that your DD’s Company/Platoon will meet together soon to finish the Online portion for admissions ….

Before our DD left for NAPS in the summer of 2019, she also got ahead on all the MOC applications and submitted them for a 2nd round …

I don’t think there is anything you should have anxiety about …. Your DD has it covered …
.

NAPS registrar sent this email regarding the application:
“Good morning NAPS,

There is concern that applications for USNA need to be completed. They do not. The application from last year is pulled forward.
You do not need to interview with a BGO
You do not need to resubmit anything
The only requirement for your application is to apply to all nomination sources you are eligible for. (which should already have happened)”

I understand that you are worried/ anxious of your DD application. Everything is under control and taken care of by MILSTAFF.

I have a question about interviewing with the Senator and Congressman....did your daughter do the interviews virtually since she was at NAPS?

I'm not the person that you're answering but as a Congressional and Senatorial Interviewer, I've interviewed NAPS and other prep schoolers over the years and it has been a mix of live/in person and virtual. In the past couple of years, more virtual and that has also
been the case with College re-applicants as some of them are a long distance away from home for their current college.

A friend of mine interviewed virtually because Road Island is a pretty far distance from IN

Yes, my daughter did zoom interviews with her congressman and one senator (the other senator does not do interviews real or virtual). Majority of midshipman candidates at NAP do the zoom interviews as NAPS does not make allowances for them to leave for in state interviews (many MCs from the west coast, Hawaii and one from Samoa!). Daughter did one zoom call on a Thursday evening and another on Saturday morning. After being selected for interviews she picked her day and time to interview (both MOCs used sign up genius) and put in a note letting them know she was at NAPS and would have to do a remote interview. They easily granted that request.
