The Naval Academy Summer Seminar (NASS) application will be available online - http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/nass.htm - for High School Juniors on January 3rd at 0001.

As a reminder:

1. NASS is a marketing program designed to introduce students to USNA including under-represented areas around the country.

2. Applying for NASS in no way guarantees an offer of appointment

3. Not being selected for NASS will in no way hinder a candidate's chances for admission.

4. There will be three sessions: June 2 - June 7, June 9-June 14, June 16-June 21.

Thanks for the update! Does the student pick which week they want to attend or does the USNA choose what week once they review the application? It states that all students will be notified by May 1st - do they notify by mail?

Last year the application allowed you to indicate if you were unable to attend any of the three sessions. So, e.g., my DS indicated that he was not able to attend Session 1 (due to final exams). He was selected for Session 3 and attended (and loved it). He received his acceptance 3 weeks after he applied, which was within 24 hours of the application becoming available. IMO, the longer you wait to apply, the longer you'll wait to hear back. I believe that it's been posted here that the bulk of applicants hear back in March/early April (that was when the application became available February 1, bear in mind). Good luck!

You choose the week. There is generally less demand for week 1 b/c many students are still in school. So, if that week is an option, definitely select it as it MAY increase your odds of being accepted.
