Does anybody know if people from the national pool have been selected and notified of their appointment yet?

I have not heard from USAFA in almost 3 months since completing my candidate kit and I'm starting to get worried.

I haven't heard since I found out that I was deferred to regular selections on December 15th. According to the Admissions' Facebook page, notifications will continue to go out until mid-April, so there's still two weeks left. Hope this helps, I know how you're feeling!

@amak22 The national pool of candidates seems not to have been informed of its final status yet. If you take a look at the AFA 2019 appointment thread on this site, you'll see that admissions has given the usually trickle of LOAs/ appointments to highly qualified cadets since late October and around March 13th-19th, released a large 'wave' from the congressional slates. However, seeing as a significant number of candidates (my son included!!!) have yet to hear anything since the Early Action deadline (during which seemingly everyone but God was deferred), it is quite fair to say that the national pool has yet to be processed. My son and I have been keeping a close eye on the 2019 appointment thread to see if any more offers have been released since the first wave. If more start coming out and he's not part of it, well, then we might have some cause for concern as both the congressional and national pools will have probably been reviewed by then. Nonetheless, as has been said many, many, many times, you're not out of the running till the AFA actually sends you a 'thanks for applying' letter. So hang in there, don't give up hope, and we'll keep you in our prayers. Best of luck!!!

("Christcorp" (2nd reply?) gives a pretty good explanation of the appointment process and why it takes so long)

(Browse through the above thread; it is a bit lengthy, but there are lots of valuable bits hidden amidst the many pages)

EDIT: let me add that based on what my son and I have seen, read, heard, et cetera, there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to the admissions decision schedule... so trying to figure it out will only make you go mad! Instead, get you plan-B ducks in a row (i.e. have back ups to your back ups) and enjoy the rest of your senior year and your friends. If everything goes according to your plan A, you'll have plenty of time to be busy in the future.

It's not over until you receive the 'We're Sorry To Inform You Letter'. Applicants have received their appointments literally just in time to get there for I-Day.

Thanks for your reply and the fantastic links. I've browsed the CO'19 thread. Haven't looked at the other one yet but it looks full of good information. Thank you!
