National Waiting List and Should I be Concerned?

I am currently triple qualified with the 2nd district nomination from NC. I have had the notification that I have been put on the National Waiting List since February 14; However, it is to my understanding that all candidates without LOA's have been put on the NWL. Since then I have not heard anything. I emailed my admissions counselor and he said to keep waiting. Should I be concerned? Should I expect an offer of appointment soon? If so, when should I expect it? I have already began the paperwork for VMI just in case WP does not work out, so I have a backup. However, West Point is really where I want to go. What should I do? Has anyone else from NC gotten appointments yet?

Are you sure that your feb 14 letter was not the 3Q letter? Everyone is put on the waiting list, if you are 3Q'd, you go on the waiting list by default. It is a peculiarity.....

Yes, the feb 14 letter was the 3Q letter, but I acquired a nomination before the 3Q letter, back in December.

The letter in February was just notifying you that you are fully qualified. The application period closed at the end of February and now the slates have to be resolved.

The question you need to ask your RC is where do you sit on your slate and if your slate has been resolved. If it has been resolved and I am not the winner, then how do you see my chances coming of the NWL?

Some RCs will be very open with this and others will be more vague.

The date for response for appointments already offered has not arrived. As that date approaches and passes, additional appointments will be made as necessary. Relatively small numbers due to the high percentage of acceptances, but they will come quickly.
