Does anyone have any intell on when results from this week's Navy Board might be released?

Anyone with intel on if they really met? I am so leery being right before Christmas.

@MullenLE posted the downloads for DoDMERB a few days back. Only ~150 for NROTC so far w/ an asterisk stating that more Board selections after Jan. 1. That made me think that they didn’t meet this week....

I believe the board is meeting this week. My DD received a call from someone Monday who asked her to clarify something on her application. He said her application was being reviewed this week.
Thank you for this update! I stand corrected 😊. Good luck 🍀 to you DD!!

the ROTC programs do not do DODMERB until after a scholarship is awarded, so those downloaded for NROTC would have been awardees from a previous board.

Exactly! He just had an asterisk next to the # for NROTC saying Boards would resume after the first of the year - that was my only point to the OP: that I didn’t think there would be a Board this week (based on that info) but it looks like there may be one happening 😊....

Does anyone know if you should update your regional rep or the university rep of your first choice if you got accepted to the college? Does it matter? What about first semester grades? Any value?

The NROTC Scholarship application/selection process is "blind" with regards to college/university acceptances. I am assuming that your DS/DD has already submitted the application and in Board ready. There would be no benefit in submitting additional grades from the 1st semester. Good luck to your DS/DD!

BTW - The best source of info for this is the coordinator that your DS/DD was assigned.

DS notified today he was awarded National NROTC scholarship tied to MIT. 😁
HUGE Congrats !!!! No lie, no joke .... My DS just informed me that he won the NROTC scholarship.
(as I was just reading your DS' amazing news, my DS told me the breaking news).

FYI.... (notice came via automated text from Pensacola, followed by DS' portal update)

Thanks to everyone on the US Service Academy Forum !!!! Hopefully everyone gets great news too 🙏

Congratulations! What a great Christmas present! Can you tell me when your DD’s and DS’s applications were submitted? My DD had an interview for an ISR scholarship a few weeks ago, and I just wondered if the information from that was submitted too late for this Board.

Where is your DS going to use that scholarship?

Thanks everyone! Sorry, but it’s hard to say the date he actually applied...I looked at the pdf version of his app but it doesn’t show the actual date it was submitted. The dashboard changes a bit once you’re awarded a scholarship. I simply cannot find the date of his submission.

He’s been working on the process and paperwork for months. There was a problem with his DoDMERB physical as they neglected to take his pulse. With that resolved, he waits for other college options to firm up. He has a total of 5 noms to USNA & USAFA so waiting to hear on possible appointments.

Just wondering...Although he now has a NROTC scholarship tied to MIT, he was deferred by MIT on early action admissions. Wondering if having a NROTC scholarship in hand will improve his chance at admission?

It might. It varies by the college. I can't speak to MIT in particular but it wouldn't hurt to let the college know about it. They like full-ride tuition. The unit might be able to go to bat too, if it's his first choice.

Thanks for that. He met with NROTC reps at MIT well before Boards and have had an ongoing dialogue for a few months. They advised him they would be discussing with Admissions and told him if he was awarded a scholarship to let them know ASAP. He has already reached out to them to notify them of his scholarship. Fingers crossed...

MIT was his first choice and it’s reflected as such in the NROTC portal. Hoping that helps them give the green light. He has solid scores all the way around, so saying yes should be easy...?
