Navy Endowment Students

If you are referring to candidates using Foundation scholarships at prep schools, this usually occurs after enough grades are available, in the spring.

Again, if you are talking Foundation, I can tell you that my son received his first email about Foundation on Jan 12th. That was the first day I, or my current plebe, had ever heard of the Foundation program and we are both very grateful that we did. After finishing the Foundation year, he recevied his official appointment to the Academy on April 19th.

I am sorry. I meant Foundation. If the candidate has well above a 4.0 gpa their first semester at the PG school, can that advance the decision time table?
Are you a foundation prepster?

If you are you should have been briefed by Captain Wallace about this and should really not be worried but then if you were a foundation prepster, you would not be referring to it as the endowment.

Basically, as long as you are doing reasonably well, you are in. Really, STOP worrying about this. If they are going to offer it to you, it will be explained.

Foundation and NAPS candidates normally get their appointments later in the cycle, regardless of how well they are doing. Later is typically in late March through late April. If a candidate is borderline they might even get it later. Doesn’t sound like your child is in this category, but every year there are a few so I am just putting it out there as general info. It is also not all academics. They have to pass the PRT and also be in good standing with conduct and honor at their respective schools. I am sure your son or daughter has been briefed and thoroughly understands what the requirements are to receive an appointment. Sounds like your child is thriving. That is great news as Foundation is a wonderful program and most go on to do very well at USNA.

FYI, CAPT Wallace has retired from his role at USNA. Apologize but I don’t know the name of his relief.

It’s Don Hughes, ‘88. He has been doing the turnover.

I expect the phone will be the same:
410-295-4096

It’s in the staff directory, back part of SHIPMATE! I have a hard time finding the staff directory on the re-designed website.

I agree with @NavyHoops - prep appointments, whether NAPS or Foundation, tend to show up later in the Admissions cycle, spring time frame.
