Navy Swimming Just Keeps Winning

The winning streak continues. Navy women's swim went 33 in a row today against Army. The men are now 31 in a row.

Like Old Man River, Navy Swimming just keeps rolling along...
We were there tonight. Rowdy Gaines was the announcer!
Great meet. Both women and men represented Navy strongly and well.

Longest current Navy win streak against Army as far as I know. I’m guessing it’s easier to recruit the top swimmers into the sea service? I know nothing about competitive swimming.

For the women’s team, current coach was a former assistant, who I think returned as head coach after coaching gigs elsewhere. Good coaching, healthy culture on the team.

There’s a joke in here somewhere about that skill coming in handy in the fleet, but I won’t make it.

So my youngster is so happy to have a sub 10 time for a swim test. I for one know not what that means but know he is super happy and proud to be a passing Aqua Rock.
Very proud of the Navy team and their accomplishments.

My DS was an aqua rock as well. I wouldn't say that he is a "fish", but he is an extremely confident swimmer now. The one thing that is universal at USNA is that you will become a swimmer, not merely someone who knows how to swim.

No skin in the game here - have an NROTC mid, but I still check SAF (hard to say good-bye!). As a mom of a competitive swimmer (different kid) I think it’s lovely for you to recognize this. Competitive Swimming doesn’t get many mentions but I guarantee anyone not familiar with the sport would literally be in awe of the work, dedication & amount of early mornings these kids put in. Oh, and the amount of food they eat 🤣. At 15, he’s the easiest kid EVER to get up @ 4:30am - just touch his foot, walk out of the room & he’s up & going (he’s been doing this since he was 7). And the closeness between swimmers - unbelievable - they spend sooooo much time together. My husband & I were never on a swim team, but absolutely love the sport (he is now a US Swimming Official). I could go on and on and on 😁…. But will leave w/ this: #notallathleteswearshoes

So disappointed. I kept muttering, "The bacon thread is in the everything drawer" as I walked past attendees, but all I got was some strange looks and a clear path as people backed away in apprehension.
Maybe I went to the Game of Thrones shape-shifter camp.
