Need to update email address

DS used his school email address when setting up his portal and applications back when applying for summer seminar 2 years ago. We think his school account will become inactive at some point after graduation but not sure when. He doesn't see a way to change his email to his personal email address on the portal, but doesn't want to risk missing important information before I-day. This school email is the email address he uses to login to his portal as well, so we don't want to mess up access to the portal either.

Has anyone had this issue before? Would this be a question for technical support or admissions?

If he is going to USAFAPS I would see about getting it changed, as I received emails there about my reporting information. However, I've never received an email from USAFA in my personal email when I was accepted to the hill. Everything was sent through the portal. If his high school disables his email, I would just make sure to check the portal every other day once we get a bit closer to I-Day until he gets his reporting information. I can't see them disabling his portal for an inactive email, so I'm sure he'd be fine.
 
He is going direct to the hill. I'm assuming he will receive an official usafa or government email before or during BCT. Once they inprocess, do they continue to use the portal for anything? Do they have another portal or software for academics?

The portal becomes useless after your orders are received honestly. At least last year, our orders were sent out via the portal. And yes he will get a government email during BCT. I wouldn't call it a portal, but there is a software for academics here. We're switching to a new one next year so I can't give you any specifics on it.

I had the same situation except mine ended before I-day so I contacted the tech team, explained the situation and gave them my new email. They switched it over with a day of receiving the email.
