Hello,

I am seeing a lot of people saying that got in, and honestly, I am very happy for them, however, I, myself, am very nervous/anxious/stressed. Honestly, I am also hearing that there aren't many spots left and that usually means the SA has sent out the appointments to the people they want.

I got a Rep and Senator nomination, did/doing well with high school and extracurriculars (no sports, mainly leadership such as CAP, MCJROTC, etc.), and my CFAs were on or very slightly below average depending on the individual event.

I am just wondering when I'll likely hear back from them (December deadline) and my chances. Keeping my head up and pushing forward, but just really nervous and anxious.

I feel the same. I'm a college student who needs to know for living situations next year. I think I'm a qualified candidate deserving of an appointment but I don't know if I'll get one at this point

It seems there's a whole bunch of us in the same situation as you. There's several reapplicants in college right now (myself included) and it's been all quiet for us as well. It was really getting me down this past week, as I truly don't think there's much more I could've done to make USAFA want me, but worrying about it won't change anything.

Couldnt have said it better myself

Yeah definitely super stressed. I’m really hoping to make it in the next wave. I’ve talked to everyone I know including my nomination office, and they all think I’ve got a good application. So now it’s just a nice long waiting game.

All, if you did you best, what more could/can you do? The issue is that there are only so many spots. Every year we see fantastic resumes that don’t get in.

At this stage in the game, if you are feeling down, my advice is to unplug. From chat groups, forums, social media. Concentrate on your alternate plans. Be present in your last Senior moments! Those are special, don’t let your distress over others receiving appointments rob you of your own joy that you should be experiencing during the end of your K-12 career. What an ACCOMPLISHMENT!!

It’s hard, but put this on the back burner, and focus on your next chapter. Plan your dorm. Pick a roommate. And check your portal weekly, not hourly. You won’t miss an appointment, should one ultimately come.

Many people, with multiple noms, heck even with LOA’s, don’t get in on their first try. It’s not a reflection on you as a candidate/student/person. To be still in the game, you are competitive. Unfortunately there will be competitive people who don’t get it bc there is t enough room for everyone.

Highly recommend unplugging….

GREAT ADVICE and completely agree.

Stayed off the SAF boards last year after DS submitted his application until after he received his appointment. I would suggest doing the same and focus on school, your alternate applications and also take this time to enjoy time with your friends and family because you will have limited to zero summer break when you go to BCT!

AND if you happen to not get an appointment this year, the extra year at a prep school or college will be very beneficial. There are many reapplicants who shine during BCT and that extra year can really help prepare you even more for your Doolie year.

Good luck to you all!!

I'm in the same boat, with no hint of a wavier yet. :frown: Maybe they haven't looked at all college reapplicant applications yet? One can only hope.
