Hello hoping someone can help.
DS has heard neither hide nor hair from NROTC scholarship. As of yesterday, the site still showed "all documents received...."
This morning when logging into the site, it brings up a new application Instructions and checklist.
I know that STA-21 app opens today but any other help as to why the old app is no longer available to us? DS did not get a denial letter of any sort.

They are switching over to applications for the class of 2023.
Reach out to his local recruiter. If you don't get a response with in 24 hours, call the office and talk to someone. Not all recruiters are the same. We had one we had to contact regularly and ultimately ask for another one because they failed to do their job.
We had another that texted weekly with updates even to say "no update."

I really feel for the folks with no military background that get recruiters who are up to the job the signed up for.
Be proactive, and work your way up the chain of command if you aren't getting answers.

Not sure if this is different now that new app is open, but I used the check application status link which is just a page which allows you to check by entering his ss# and birthdate, choose 2018, then click Check Status, instead of logging in with the user name and password like we did when working on and submitting the app. I googled “check NROTC application status” and it brought me right to it.

Brilliant Marine Mom! That worked perfectly.

I have a military background and our recruiter has not contacted at all since our DS completed his app in August. The Regional coordinator has sent 2 mass emails to remind about upcoming date and getting everything in. The only thing that did was put DS into a panic that he was missing something. A quick follow up assured him that everything was in order. Otherwise zero contact. Sigh.

Similar minimal contact/assistance with us. Made the process a bit more stressful, but it all worked out in the end. In the meantime these forums were a great resource.

It seems an ongoing theme throughout. The only inkling we had of any movement on any apps/acceptances was a call from BGO a few days before a Congressional Letter appeared about a nomination. And even that was a surprise with no real information given. This whole process is stressful! Two direct admits, one scholars waitlist and one foundation scholarship all came with no idea that movement was occurring! I never really liked surprises myself...but DS has been cool as a cucumber! Good thing...I suspect he will need that character trait going forward!;)

Just was logging in, same thing happened to me. I went to the home page, and clicked on the "Check Status of Application", which was highlighted in Yellow. Turns out I did not get the scholarship. Looks like its either college program, or OCS for me. Best of luck for your DS!

So sorry to hear :/ The "check status" is not highlighted for DS when he logs in with ssn and dob, but does contain the "no decision has been made..." So it would seem that when the check status is highlighted there is some change to the determination.
I wish you the best of luck as a programmer! Many paths to the same goal!

Usually, check status is always highlighted. If it still says "no decision" that means he is still in the running!

Wondering all this myself. Our prior recruiter was pretty much unresponsive all last summer and our new recruiter was rushing to get my DS package complete for the December Board since he felt he was so qualified. Now nothing but “application complete” and “no decision has been made.” Thankfully he received his appointment to USNA months ago. Is it possible NROTC knows DS received an appointment?

As has been stated previously, I have to believe that the two are not in communication with each other. DS also received an appointment to USNA but of course would like to close all the loops sooner rather than later.

In previous years there was no communication.
Recently NROTC has shared their list with the Academy after the plebes report for summer training.
The Navy doesn't allow you to have a plan B anymore. You must give up your scholarship if you report to the Academy.
You used to be able to keep your Navy scholarship and if something went wrong during plebe summer, you could show up at your assigned NROTC unit as if nothing had happened, although I would image NROTC Orientation would be pretty easy.
They don't allow this anymore.
I'm not sure if this rule applies to other service scholarships.
