Through this journey there were few places where I found information to be very helpful, First place - here in these forums. Second place - with my local parent club. New families - I highly encourage you to seek out your local parent club and join - they are a great source of knowledge. If you are a member of a club - please post the club's URL here.

NYC Metro Area (we have members from Westchester, NYC, NE New Jersey, and some of our members are from LI)

The USNA Alumni Assn, an independent non-profit, acts as the parents’ clubs sponsor and overall parents’ coordinator. No government funds are involved. Note they are “usna.com,” while the Naval Academy is “usna.edu.”

See the link below, which includes a map of parents’ clubs, as well as the functions related to parents.

The map shows web pages, social media links, etc.

It would be nice to see individual clubs pop up with a welcome.

Military Balls. Mentorship. Spring and fall care packages for Mids. Army Navy social events. Cool name badge to wear among other parents in Annapolis (join now and get yours in time for IDay!!) Official USNA parent information.

You can be as involved, or uninvolved as you care to be. Highly recommend joining! Our club is small, but mighty. A place where everyone understands you.

The New Jersey Parents Club has huge tailgate parties at home football games where they feed as many mids as want to eat, no matter where they come from. They also have also done this for Army/Navy basketball games at West Point when allowed. Lots of other events including a "Welcome Aboard picnic in early June and a "Last Supper" in Annapolis the night before I Day and busses from USNA to locations in NJ for Thanksgiving.

I'm on the board of our state parent club and joining was the best decision for me. A great resource and experienced moms and dads who have navigated this and continue to support and mentor incoming plebe parents.

I'm stepping into a new role mentoring plebe parents for the next year and I am very excited to meet our incoming families.

From club gifts to MIDN, cookies we order for them via Calvary Cookie (former MIDN is the pastor), to All Academy Balls, tailgates, watch parties, and Welcome Aboard luncheons, it is a great group of people who are going through exactly what you are. Each state group typically has a fundraiser item they sell and ours is commissioning blankets (really nice!).

We are going to transition over to a new USNA Alumnus club platform for our site so I will post the new link when it goes live. Our current page is:

We finish our Welcome Aboard with a hearty "GO NAVY BEAT ARMY" and the incoming MIDN and their families don't know it's coming and it shocks them, and then they all smile ear to ear and realize the family they just joined. Priceless. Gives me chills.

Welcome to the Parents Club of Maryland! We can be found here: http://maryland.usnaparents.net/or email us at usnapcmd@gmail.com.
We are rebuilding after being inactive for the past two years and have a great group of energetic members. We have lots of great activities planned including tailgates for parents at the home football games, the USNAMDPC Fall Ball, and we run the Midshipmen Express at winter break to get Mids to the airport. Welcome to USNA! Our Welcome Aboard Picnic for Class of '26 families is scheduled for June 12th-Save the Date!! Oh-and BEAT ARMY!

Welcome 2026 USNA Candidates from the Naval Academy Parents Club of South Carolina. Contact us to receive our latest newsletter. Rising Plebes and family are invited to our annual welcome aboard luncheon and information session in Columbia 11 June at noon. Contact us for further information.

We just joined via the USNA Portal - Any recommendations on which Parents Clubs to join?

Family and DD are stationed OCONUS so considering joining the VA/MD Parent's Clubs. At least that way we may be more able to participate in events.

New Jersey Parents Club member and future firstie (I can't believe I'm saying that) mom! We would love to touch base with all incoming plebe families. Our Welcome Aboard Picnic is Scheduled of June 5. Please sign up and join the Club. We have lots of fun cooking for all of the Mids during football season! Fee free to reach out to me for information. We love sharing our experiences and would love to get you all on our mailing list. https://usna-njpc.org/new-events/2022/6/5/save-the-date-welcome-aboard-picnic

NJ Parents Club would love to meet the incoming Plebes. Our Welcome Aboard Picnic is scheduled to take place on June 5. It's a great opportunity to meet other NJ parents and incoming plebes. You will have a blast at our home football game tailgates where we feed ALL of the midshipmen, not just those from NJ and have a front row to all of the spirit squads that love to give us our own "private" shows! Cant wait to meet all of you. https://usna-njpc.org/new-events/2022/6/5/save-the-date-welcome-aboard-picnic
