Good for all military travelers eligible for Space A. When mids and cadets have larger blocks of leave, they can have a great time. We had one sponsor mid who had 3.5 weeks one summer, went from Dover AFB by hops to Japan, then Hawaii, back across CONUS, then to England and Italy. Had a blast, did it all Space A. Carried a laptop with Skype and a backpack, got invited to all kinds of things along the way.

AMC is great if you are young or old and have no time restraints you should go for it, especially if you are close to big AMC hubs, Maquire, Dover, Bolling, Travis and Kelly are your best shots for CONUS

The unfficial site of pepperd.com has a wealth of information too, it actually had more information and tips than that site. =)

Yeah I use Pepperd.com to schedule all my vacations. Works for me 9 times outta 10. Also, the Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC) is a great benefit too.

Took my kids backpacking across Europe one summer. Caught hop out of Lackland to Dover to Germany. Got 7 days in a 5 star resort in Black Forest for $250 (AFVC). Then started on the EuRail 21 day Pass to 14 countries (including ferry to and from Greece) sleeping most nights on the train/ferry. After the train pass ran out, we hopped around for another week (England/Germany/Italy/Sicily/Portugal/Spain) and then hopped back home. Total 45 days. Greatest experience I could ever have hoped to give my 12 yr old daughter and 15 yr old son.

As stated above, if you've got the time Space-A is a great way to go. And PepperD.com makes it easy to plan your hops to get where you want to go. Getting home is the part where patience and research really comes into play. There are certain weekends I can go to DC on Friday and know I can get home on Monday, otherwise I may have to wait two or three more days. Sometime you even have to find ground transportation to get from one base to another to catch a hop going your way. Just in case, always have enough money to get home commercial.
