Congratulations to everyone who received an offer on this board! Now that I have an offer should I wait for the packet to arrive in the mail for further instructions or is there anything I am supposed to do beforehand? Thank you for any info

Wait for the packet. Might want to check the additional information tab on the application website if you are bored.

@clarksonarmy -.mind if I ask you a few questions? DS was just awarded a 3YR AROTC this last board. DS is not home from work but sent a brief txt saying he won the 3 year but listed 3 schools. I guess not all the 3 schools were not his top 3 choices- is that normal? His #1 and #3 were there but not #2. He was waitlisted at #1 and lately he's been rethinking #2 thru #5 anyway. Question being, is it difficult to apply it to a school not listed in the "winner box" but still listed in the 5 schools when he applied?

Additional information tab on the application website.....it’s normal to have offers to “random” schools on your list. Not necessarily the first three. Look at the information about transfers on the tab

@clarksonarmy - ty! I will have DS show me when he gets home. I was just curious based on what he had shared in a text. Also, I'm hearing about some schools will pick up the other year, for those who won a 3 year. Is that something worth asking at the schools he might look into Moving it over? We are certainly thrilled with a 3 year and would not want to sound ungrateful, but if it's commonly asked or a "routine" question then that's good to know. Also, DS was awarded some generous merit scholarships from some of his schools. Some schools throw in free room & board while others don't. Can DS apply merit scholarships with AROTC? I appreciate your feedback. Ty!

The financial aid folks at your schools are going to tell you what they can do to help you. Here at Clarkson they help with the first year for our 3 year winners. They also help front load that merit aid. Once the scholarship kicks in there isn’t much need left. Don’t feel bad to ask about more. The Army pays all tuition and fees or room and board.

Really? Clarkson will take care of year 1, if awarded a 3year? Bc DS said they also offer free room & board. That’s an amazing deal. DS was accepted there & wants to go to accepted students day this weekend, but has to check with his HS coach.

I said help...not take care of. No one at Clarkson pays sticker price, but they usually don’t give it away for free. Let’s just say a 3 year scholarship winner usually receives generous financial aid their first year.

I’ll be at accepted student day, so hopefully we see him there.

Thank you Clarkson! You and several others have been extremely helpful and so generous with your knowledge! DS is excited about his scholarship and helped offset today’s arrival of USMA’s TWE:(
