I still hadn’t heard from my State’s senator regarding a nomination. I reached out to them, and they said I would hear first week of February. Isn’t this past the deadline for nominations? It was my understanding that nominations all had to be done by January 31st.

YOUR deadline is 31 January. Focus on what you can control.
You and USMA cannot control the behavior of your Senator. He or she will submit their panel when they are ready and that panel will be accepted.

31st is the deadline. but you still may not hear for a few days after that.

Get used to waiting. Because If you land an offer of appointment and attend an SA and eventually enter active duty, you will wait...and wait...and wait...and wait...

DD, a naturally impatient person like her old man, has had to learn to wait...and wait...and wait...

The deadlines are different for each state. In fact, my state is not due to WP from Congress until Jan 31 but the candidates had to have their nomination applications done by Nov 1 or Nov 15, depending on the Senator/Representative requirements.

Believe the deadline being discussed is the deadline for the MOCs to submit their slate of nominees to USMA which is 1/31

@okboomer And if the MOCs are late, it is not like USMA Admissions is going to say, "No Senator, we cannot accept your slate this year because our deadline was last week..."

Also, some candidates never hear from their senators or congressmen about a nomination--until they receive an appointment, maybe.

Agree, but the post I was replying to was discussing different deadlines for different states, which I believe was confusing nomination application deadlines with MOC offices with the MOC’s deadline of submission to USMA. Compliance with that deadline is a different discussion.

For the original poster, I think what is important to remember is that appointments cannot be made against your congressman and senators' slates until they are submitted and that the deadline is not as hard set for the MOCs--so that he or she is not missing out on anything.
