I have two nominations, one from each of my senators. Both nominations are to the Air Force Academy. Neither senator ranked their nominees, and I assume there is some overlap between the two slates (like me).

Am I more competitive because I have two nominations?

If I am not offered an appointment under one of my senators, will I have a better chance in the national pool because I have two nominations?

Short answer is no.

Once placed on the pool you will compete nationally, and they will use the WCS you received when boarded, just like they will do for those that come from states where the MOCs spread their wealth aka talk aka only 1 nom is given.

Think of it like an entirely new nom slate, but this time national. There are no extra points awarded to a candidate's WCS just because they have more than 1 nom. compared to the candidate that had only 1 nom.

It is all about the WCS that they were awarded when boarded with their 1st nom.
