M.O. results being released. DS just received call that a TOTAL of 35 M.O. Scholarships were awarded. He just missed out, but had already decided to accept and use his AROTC Scholarship at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Received notice of my selection via email this morning. :)

Are you sure that is the national number, and not just the number for your district? 35 seems awfully low...

If you receive the scholarship, you most likely will get a call before it's reflected on the portal -- at least that was the case a couple of years back. Ideally, you *should* get a call either way as a courtesy, but unfortunately that doesn't always happen.

Totally off topic, but are you from Puerto Rico? I recognize your profile pic...

No, but I am Puerto Rican. My parents are both Puerto Rican(mother born and raised in PR) and my father was born in the Bronx. I was born in Manhattan, NY. But yeah no, I am Puerto Rican(bilingual) but I live in New York. I visit every single summer for 7-8 weeks though

That is true. I was only ever notified by automatic email. No calls or other personal interaction.

It may be different since I am a college programmer re-applicant but I just got an email and then my CO came and informed me.

This process is so frustrating. No word. Portal still says items waiting to be processed but CO says all information submitted.

@jooglegirl
I would take your CO's word on it. The portals are very slow to be updated. All you can do is just be patient and wait.

DS just got the email saying he didn't get it. General email was sent to all applicants who didn't receive a scholarship. Not individualized or blind copied. For all the effort these kids put into applying, it would have been nice to not get a mass email for all to see.
