Earlier this year when my son was not selected for FT for AFROTC (thus losing his scholarship), he decided he still wanted to serve. He was able to communicate with his people and fast tracked the disenrollment process.

Today he received official word that he is medically qualified through DoDMERB for AROTC so now he should be commissioning with the Army in two years. He is also in the process of going into the Reserves and will be in SMP.

This definitely was not his dream growing up, BUT he adapted and overcame and will still be able to serve. I am so proud of him.

So, the big question: since he’ll be Army and my youngest is NROTC, who do I root for during the Army/Navy game?

First and most importantly CONGRATULATIONS on a lesson in perseverance.
Related to the DoDMERB process, as a SMP member, doesn't he still need to go through MEPS too?

Finally on the game: If you're making a wager bet on Army!!

Go ARMY!!!!

Yes, I will advise as @Ready42025 said, the applicant must still go through MEPs. Since I'm doing SMP as well, I'm currently in my High School senior year, I need to lose some weight, before I can go to MEPS, as instructed by my recruiter, it is REQUIRED.

Yes, even if you're DoDMERB qualified (like I was) you still have to go through MEPS.

MEPS is a great time! The hotel is great, you get free food, and the staff are incredibly friendly! (just a hint of sarcasm here.)

Just kidding. SMP is a really good deal. Congrats to your DS.

I've got a DS who was a HS football captain. Played center (hardest position in sports along with baseball catcher and hockey goalie). Weighed 300 lbs thanks to idiot coaches continuously encouraging him to put on pounds. Lost 100 pounds in six months after he decided to Go Army. Now runs 2 miles in 14 minutes. 60 pushups a set.

You can do it too. Motivation!
