** I am not dishonoring any person who died of police brutality***

I am surprised that as a great nation we are, we fail to honor those fallen heros who died protecting others and the country. I guess for the sake of media attention and to gain their love, sports teams will/can do anything.

It would have been very truly inspiring if all the other team members also wore Sgt 1st class Alwyn Cashe's name on their helmet.

Courageous - every Steelers helmet had the name of another individual. Villanueva covered that name with the name Alwyn Cashe.

Alwyn Cashe: Sergeant First Class died rescuing soldiers from a burning vehicle in Iraq. Awarded Silver Star. Secretary of Defense Mark Espers recommending upgrade to Medal of Honor after reviewing details of event.

In a league void of role models, this WP grad and all around good guy plus a heck of a football player dares the daily norms and dares those who might knock his actions.

I dare anyone to counter what this patriot is doing.

If only his action would spark a trend amongst professional athletes. He had explained his choice to his coach and had permission. He is so classy.

Army Football Captain; 10th Mountain Division; 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment; 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; 3 tours in Afghanistan; Bronze Medal with V; Ranger Tab; Combat Infantry Badge; Parachutist Badge

Three years ago, he honored the flag and National Anthem while his teammates stayed in the locker room (I bought his jersey and donated it to charity - just couldn't keep a Steelers jersey in the house ;)).
