I have received and accepted an Appointment to USNA, and also have an acceptance and accepted NROTC scholarship to my Plan B school. Should I let the NROTC unit know that I probably won't be joining them? Also, should I put down a deposit at that school? I know that nothing is definite until I am sworn in on I-Day...

If yo want a backup plan I wouldn't bother doing anything other than put down a deposit at the school when the time comes. When it's clear you'll be at USNA, notify the NROTC unit then.

I applied for the Marine Option NROTC scholarship and haven't heard anything. Did you get the notification that you had received the scholarship this morning?

NROTC and NROTC/MO use different boards. If the OP was notified today by NROTC, it would have no bearing on NROTC/MO. (@kinnem, please correct me if I'm wrong).

You are absolutely correct sir.

Normally MO selections/rejections go out anywhere from late March to the middle of April. Future Marines must learn patience and continue to work tjeir backup plans... or go have some fun if backup plans are already in place.
