November NROTC board results known?

Great!! Then maybe there has been a recent board and the results are starting to be released. The are a few people still waiting for some good NROTC news.

You think it's possible that they would notify applicants over a several day period rather than just during one day?
I seem too recall them doing that about a month ago. Good Luck! :thumb:

My recruiter mentioned that a board was being held the week of my interview which was the 8th-12th, and would have another one "at the end of the month and into December." I'm assuming this means the 29th-3rd. He was very determined to get my application in for hopes that I would make the latter board.

If your recruiter was correct and there was in fact a board being held during that time, this would be the week that those applicants selected find out.

Good luck to all.

I know a few of you are interested in the timing of notifications, so I wanted to let you know that after noticing the change on the NROTC scholarship page on Sat. the 20th, DD's Dodmerb page changed to in process on the 22nd.

Thank you Sgmom, my DS's AROTC DoDMERB status changed on the 22nd but nothing for NROTC. At this point we are a little confused here as we thought the AROTC October notifications had already been sent out and everyone was waiting for the November NROTC notifications. We can't tell if we are ahead or behind the game at this point....:yllol:

Just updating to let everyone know that after my son finding out on Friday, his Dodmerb status showed for the first time yesterday (Tue) for NROTC as "Qualified, unrestricted line" (he already had his medical done for USNA). :thumb:

Hey all,
I've recently applied to both MIT and NROTC, as well as USNA.
However, during the process I received an LOA from USNA, so I started thinking of backup schools rather than MIT, just for a sure "you're going to college" deal.
So I changed my NROTC #1 from MIT to Embry-Riddle, and I was awarded a 4 year scholarship there, and I'm sure I'll get into Embry-Riddle University.
My question is that if my MIT result comes back, and I'm accepted to MIT, could/should I change my #1 NROTC back to MIT and get an NROTC Scholarship there?
I seem to have done the opposite as what marciemi's son did =/

My son spoke with one of the head folks at MIT on Sunday for nearly an hour. He told my son that the MIT unit pretty much never fills and that he should change his scholarship to Michigan (#2) ASAP or at least at the point that it looked at all like the Michigan unit would be getting close to filling. He said this year they had 31 students and were authorized 60. Assured him that switching back to MIT at any point (assuming he got in  ) wouldn't be a problem. Son called Michigan on Monday and they told him they were nowhere close to filling and normally don't until late spring. So he's waiting through December for his early action results from MIT and Michigan. Like you with ER, he's confident he'll get in Michigan, but would be nice to have that in writing. But if MIT defers (or rejects!) him, he'll switch to Michigan at that point.

Son is looking at either Nuclear or Chemical Engineering and hoping to go into Submarines.

Ah. My son is Aerospace and also has michigan on his list. Had MIT but dropped it. Now has purdue, georgia tech, penn state, florida, and michigan. Based on NROTC reputations as much as the Aero programs. I wish he'd stuck with MIT. They send him stuff regularly so I think he'd have had a decent chance of getting in but the more he learned the less he liked.

Good Luck!

It is not too surprising that UM is nowhere close to filling considering they haven't even begun to accept students for 2015....yet. Once mid-December rolls around I'm sure they'll start seeing a lot more students attempting to join the unit.

Well, they told him they had 7 assigned to them out of approximately 30 slots. Those may not be "acceptances" but people like my son who were assigned to a unit with their scholarship. They assured him that he could wait until Dec and not worry about not having a slot there. Hope they're right!!
