I've been eyeballing the 'Start New Application' button ever since it's been released, but I am wondering if I should wait until the end of my school year for my end-of-semester GPA and future SAT scores. Do I need to report all of my information immediately? Should I apply now and request that I send in scores later? Will applying earlier aid in my chances? If anyone has any clues, I'd love to hear them.

Do note that if you are promoted to candidate status in July, you may have an early application deadline ( my DD's case it was Nov 30). The application deadline could be different for different candidates depending upon when their application was promoted to candidate status.

The above is from my memory of DD app last year.

I did everything and submitted my application on the early side. I live in FL and we were going to have in-person school and a football season. I knew my time would be limited once school started which is in mid August. We were online 4th Q of my junior year and I used that time to train for my CFA, which I took in June before it got too hot. I heard from USAFA in September and then not again until March. But I got an appointment. You can always send them transcripts. I didn't even send my 7 semester ones because they didn't ask for them.
You need to decide the best way to juggle things and balance your schedule to your benefit.

If you start now and get promoted to candidate status in July, you will have roughly four months to complete your application. Therefore, your deadline to complete will likely be early November. You'll want to be very confident you can supply letters of req from teachers, etc. and have excellent SAT/ACT scores by the first of November. It is nice to have the summer to perfect your essays and work on your congressional noms too.

Terrific advice that’s given here often: Submit the BEST application you can, as early as you can. Emphasis on BEST. Don’t be one of those folks who later notices they missed something because they were rushing to be “early.”

Keep in mind that the PCQ doesn't have a huge impact on your application as a whole. It's mainly used to check your baseline qualifications and screen out the individuals who are clearly non-competitive (those who have 2.0 GPAs, 900 SATs, beyond the age limit, etc.). The actual candidate phase is when you are dutifully reviewed and evaluated for an appointment.

My opinion? Go ahead and start whenever, so long as your current GPA and test scores are competitive.

You can also update scores as they come in, so don't think that whatever you send in is final.
